Sorry, my fellow ski-bum, that I wasn’t there to help! But you must get better soon, Dunja and I plan to ski with you in Europe someday in the not-too-distant future.

Thank you, Jeff! I thought of you on the slopes, and can't wait for you and Dunja to come to Europe for a ski trip. I'll be ready for you, I promise! Hugs to all of you. xxSheila

We are sending big healing hugs to you, Sheila! I'm sure you will make optimum use of the recovery time and don't forget to catch up on some recreational reading! Spring has come to San Francisco with cherry and magnolia blossoms brightening the landscape and warm sunshine reminding us that soon it will be time to be in the garden again. We prepare now for our favorite of all the holidays on Valentine's Day...chocolate and flowers! How bad can that be? We will raise a glass of bubbly and toast to your rapid and full recovery!

Oh, Candy, you are so sweet to write me, thank you! I love imagining you surrounded by cherry and magnolia blossoms in SF. And cheers to chocolate and flowers! Happy Valentine's Day to you both! Do you know that I dream of having a Man Hut like your husband's in our garden here in Rome?! It would be my writing heaven/haven! One day! Love to both of you!

That little Zen Den started with a shed KIT we bought from Costco for $1000. We tricked it out with special windows, skylight, glass sliding doors, hardwood floor for maybe another 8-10,000. Worth every penny and cheap at twice the price. Of course, you need to be in one place for a long while to make it worth it so I suppose that will have to wait some time for you! But we hold that vision for you in true California style! Huge hugs...C&K

Oh mamma, Sheila! Hope you’re not in too much pain, and you’ll take the opportunity to get some rest (not sure you did since your wonderful birthday party). However, it seems your spirit is already in good shape, as you article is so lovely and fun. Grande Sofia!

So understand the therapeutic value of writing it all down. Heal well, dear Sheila. The only good side of such an injury is the pleasure of watching your body do what comes naturally: fix itself. xx

Yes, indeed, the human body and its ability to heal are extraordinary. The real challenge is the patience we must have as we heal!! Trying my best to read as much as possible, and the therapy of writing is miraculous. Love to you both. xx

Thank you, dear Lois! And thank you for being so supportive to my parents as they transition from one house to another....tough times. They are lucky to have you nearby as their dear friend. xxS.

What a lovely, upbeat post! How wonderful to be surrounded by supportive, positive people. Positivity is definitely contagious, and while it’s important for us to be aware of the awful things going on around us, and to speak up and act where we can, it’s heartening to read about the goodness that exists out there. Thank you. (And I love how you make me laugh…someone once told me we need to laugh seven times a day!)

Aww, Paola, thank you. I'm happy to hear that I made you laugh. Seven times a day is the recipe?! I'm going to start counting! :) What else can we do in maddening situations such as this one?! I just ordered your book yesterday and I can't wait to read it! Congratulations again!

Thank you, my friend! It's nice to know you've been through it and now stand strongly on your two ankles. I'm far from feeling strong at this point but determined to get there! Miss you! Sofia recently moved up another belt to blue-brown...so she's getting there!
