Carissima! Congratulazioni!! I'm so happy to have crossed paths with you and your family during your sojourn in San Francisco, though it was bound to happen somewhere in the world given the many points of connection we have! I will continue to connect with you virtually through this newsletter and IRL around the world! A presto!!

First of all, I truly enjoy reading your work. I appreciate the honesty as well as the clear talent sharing your life. I will always marvel that one day while sitting with a dog in that French cafe in Carmel by the Sea after just having moved here I met you and your husband. Shame we never met again as I really wanted to meet that dog of yours. Dog hair aside, there is absolutely nothing more joyful and grounding and eternally loving as a dog. I shall subscribe happily and share! Oh! and by the way, when we met I was 58. I just turned 68. Trust me…all the things we worry about fly in and out. Relish it all….it just keeps getting better! ❤️

Dearest Patricia, How could I EVER forget you or our chance encounter in Carmel?! It was extraordinary. You and I are certainly on the same wavelength about dogs. You will love Miss Zaby the day you finally meet her. I'll bring her back to her California roots sooner or later. Until then, I love that we are still in touch, and thank you for being such a supportive reader! Continue to be well and relish in life as your energy and enthusiasm inspires others!

I love you, Sheila! I’m thrilled that you are doing this. I support you 100% I’m so happy. You are an amazing writer. This is your own special thing. I know that your writing will touch many people, maybe make them feel like they are not alone, entertain them, and very likely teach them. I’ve always admired your kindness and grace. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Give Zaby and the kids hugs for me.

Love,

Annie

Oh, Annie, such lovely words, thank you!! Your support means so much to me. Since writing can feel so lonely at times, it feels wonderful to have a community supporting me. All of you will force me to write regularly -- which is what I miss and need! Did you like the photo of Zaby?! She loves our daily walks in the Villa Borghese but she sure does miss you, her doggie friends, Crissy Field and Golden Gate Park. One day soon, we will return! Lots of love to you and yours. Thank you again for your lovely message and for being a reader!
